There are many questionable “national days” on the event calendar and we’re here for adding Galentine’s Day. Who’s with us?!
Thursday 13 February, the day before Valentine’s Day, is the fictitious day for celebrating the girls, and the importance of these life-affirming, often lifelong relationships, regardless of one’s relationship status.
Now, lads, it’s not just for the “gals”, Lalentine’s Day, does have a certain ring to it – so, gather your mates because any excuse for a catch up is a plus with us.
To get in the spirit of the day, we’ve created a Galentine’s Day guide, which is as much as an idea starter as a call-to-action to make this day official – if not by public standards, then a tradition in your friendship group.
An old fashioned pamper party!
What happens when you combine a bar specialising in gin, plus a salon equipped in all things beauty? The result is Brooklyn Beauty Bar (BBB) – which has Galentine’s Day written all of it.
BB is ideal for groups, simply book a party package in the form of; Broadway Brow, Fifth Ave Facial or Queens Pedi for a glamourous experience featuring NYC chesterfield reclining lounges, 1940 jazz hits and a G&T (or two).
A spree with a stylist:
There’s no shortage of boutiques on James Street and Galentine’s Day is as good as an excuse as any to enjoy some retail therapy, so gather your trusted personal stylists/friends! Keen to mix up your look or perhaps you all have a special occasion coming up? David Jones, Calexico and Calexico Man all have in-store stylists for a more tailored experience.
Because nothing good happens before coffee…
For the ones you haven’t seen in a while, the early risers or shift workers, save the date and lock in a morning coffee catch up. With Jamie’s Espresso Bar, roasting every day from 6.30AM, sit down, relax and enjoy starting the day with those who mean the most – if only every morning started this way.
For the longest lunch. Ever.
The Italian saying, ‘la dolce vita’ translating to the ‘good life, full of pleasure and indulgence’ is in abundance at Bucci Bar & Restaurant.
With a dedicated bar alongside the restaurant serving Italian aperitif and wine, start your lunch here before making your way to the main dining room. Serving a seasonal menu, the restaurant layout makes it fit for any group size, whether 5, 10, or 2. They also have a private dining room function space for larger gatherings for when the whole group are on board.
