Follow the star studded-yellow brick road

The Stars

It’s not every day (or night in this case) that you get to chat with the brains behind the brands you know and love. James St Up Late (JSUL) provides opportunities to mix and mingle with the designers, founders and national heads of some of the favourite labels found on James St. Follow the below star-studded yellow brick road to a night of stellar socialising.

First stop SIR., to induct our newest neighbours into the JSUL hall of fame, Founders Nikki Campbell and Sophie Coote will be in-store for one-on-one styling sessions and to answer the question on everyone’s lips…how  do we get our hands on Sophie’s bridesmaid dresses – to say we’re obsessed is the understatement of the century!

Take a short stroll and set your sights on Calexico. Calexico Director and all round fashion powerhouse Nicky Charman will be joined by ANINE BING’s Australian Brand Manager, Amy Finlayson for a best dressed BING moment. Don your best ANINE BING garment or accessory and take a photo at the photowall for your chance to win bling-a-ling!

After all that excitement, you will have worked up a thirst. Drop in for a one-night only special margarita at LOS – are you as intrigued as we are? See you there but sip quick, as more good friends are to be made.

Skip across Ada lane for a vibey visit with Venroy’s Founder Sean Venturi, who will be in store with his dream team. Meet the gang behind the brand and discuss the details of their High Summer 22 collection, which we can’t get enough of.

Speaking summer, it’s gelato time – which, in truth, is any time!  Gelato Messina got the JSUL orange and black memo loud and clear with their limited edition flavour: sticky caramel and zesty orange marmalade gelato with dark chocolate shavings. Two scoops are the recommended serving here..

Post-sugar hit, spin up the street to meet the local stars who will be shining bright during Up Late.  Angelique Andronis of By Baby and Gail Sorronda we are looking at you! Angelique practically grew up on James St and knows her way around a JSUL celebration (always a buzzy night at By Baby) including but not limited to offering shoppers 20% off.

Our dark romance queen, Gail Sorronda knows how to party after dark, hosting a sample sale alongside fellow Australian designers Luke Sales from Romance Was Born and Gary Bigeni in-store on the night.

Lastly but certainly not least, follow the beats to Wandoo St where a slew of new traders will take part in their first JSUL. Studio Gallery, Bared Footwear and MCM House are all promising to put on a show. Literally! MCM House are hosting an art show with popular Sydney-based artist and friend of James St, Daimon Downey. Downey and MCM House Founder Charles Hinkfuss will both be in attendance for the party with a DJ, complimentary merch and more.
