We are so pleased to announce that the fourth annual James St Food & Wine Trail is just around the corner!
After an incredibly successful 3 years, the James St Food & Wine Trail is coming back this year from July 30th with a deliciously diverse culinary program featuring degustation dinners, exotic flavour combinations, guest chefs, internationally acclaimed identities, pop-up bars.
The program will culminate with a day-long celebration on Saturday, August 1 with fresh food produce stalls, tasting stations, cooking demonstrations featuring world class chefs, and much more.
Take a sneak peek below to check out all the action that will be happening on Saturday, August 1.
Of course, no James St Food & Wine Trail would be complete without the ever popular Urban Picnic. This year, the Urban Picnic is coming back with a vengeance, expanding over nearly three times the amount of area it was at last year. Get ready to lay down on the turf, soak up some rays, and indulge in delicious street-food style fare from some of the best James St food retailers, including Jocelyn’s Provisions, Gerard’s Bistro, and James St Cooking School. Grab a beverage from one of the multiple pop-up bars in the area, and groove along as the jazz band takes you through the afternoon.
Once again, this years event will feature an extensive culinary market hosted by the Standard Market Company. Think rich cheeses, fine fruit, perfectly sautéed olives and more from some of the finest local food suppliers in the country! Mosey around the ‘To Market Zone’ and start filling your tummy while discovering some of the latest culinary products. Find the producers rubbing shoulders with our James St restaurants in the Urban Picnic zone.
James St is once again teaming up with the team at ILVE to utilize their amazing cook tops and BBQ benches to bring you cooking presentations from some your favourite James St chefs, including Gerards’ Ben Williamson and Chow House’s Timmy Kemp. Get up close and personal while you watch them sauté, sizzle and slice in front of your eyes while you pick their brains about how to perfect your perfect dish.
There is no need to leave the littlies at home either, as the Little Foodies Zone is coming back – and of course, it’s expanding too! With more activities to keep the kiddlywinks preoccupied while you snack on your delicious fare from one of the various stalls, watch as your kids consume themselves in a bunch of foodie related fun.
Full program coming soon!
