Over and out!

RESORT is over but the memories live on!

RESORT 2018, that’s a wrap! The vacation is over (for those not staying at The Calile) and it’s time to relive this year’s event…

Trailblazers kicked off Day 1 of RESORT with Vogue Australia Fashion Features and Content Strategy Director Zara Wong hosting a panel with Dion Lee, bassike duo Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan and Louise Olsen of Dinosaur Designs. Guests were taken headfirst into the fashion boiler room and inside the designer’s studios, the panellists brought to life some of Australia’s most iconic fashion moments.

The celebration continued into the evening with RESORT After Dark presented by Vogue Australia. A night of designer appearances from the likes of CAMILLA AND MARCbassikeVenroyDion LeeDinosaur DesignsAjeNatasha Schweitzer and Gail Sorronda, in addition to special appearances by editors of Vogue, GQ Magazine and Vogue Living in the Vogue Australia Lounge which was located at Harveys Bar + Bistro – all this with a side of special in-store activities, a streetwide DJ and more!

Day 2 of RESORT was jam-packed with inspiration! Starting with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Australian Fashion Council (AFC) Emerging Talent Brunch at the Living Edge showroom. Showcasing creations by the innovative QUT Fashion Design Graduates, guests were able to interact with the garments and talented students. RESORT designers as well as AFC Chief Executive Officer David Giles Kaye, Vogue Australia Editor-in-Chief Edwina McCann, GQ Magazine Editor Michael Christensen, Vogue Living Digital Content Editor Yeong Sassall, and Zara Wong were also in attendance.

After the Emerging Talent Brunch, it was time to check out Checking In The Future of Luxury Travel presented by Australian Financial Review Magazine Editor Matthew Drummond. Drummond was joined by David Prior, co-founder of PRIOR, a traveller’s club offering members access to unique and authentic experiences, Halcyon House founder Siobhan Bickle and the architects behind The Calile, Adrian Spence and Ingrid Richards. The panellists unpacked the evolution of the luxury travel market and the desire for experience that reflect something authentic, local and sophisticated – guests savoured not only good chat but a three-course feast with matched wine prepared by The Calile Hotel.
