What’s On: Melbourne Cup

If you’re planning on galloping down to James St for Melbourne Cup (MC) on Tuesday 2 November allow us to help you pick a winner. If you’re avoiding the celebrations we respect that too – you do you.



Pasta if you win, pasta if you lose – the comfort cuisine by this local trattoria will be there for you no matter which way your bets sway. Cup goers can expect a set menu accompanied by Perrier-Jouët Champagne, signature Biànca cocktails (Oh That’s a Bingo!), wine and beer.

CRU Bar + Cellar

Get your crew and head to CRU for the big day. Head Chef Richards Ousby has designed a three-course menu featuring local ingredients like Stradbroke Island oysters and Noosa scallops, and on arrival Veuve Clicqout will be served –  delightful!

All you need to know is that there will be caviar and champagne, and caviar and champagne!

Gemelli know how to party! Their MC party will include a dining and drinks package, live music, race viewing and fashions on the field, followed by a sunset DJ session at Bar Tano.

Gerard’s Bistro and Gerard’s Bar

The MC veterans will be serving a Middle Eastern long lunch with free flowing Louis Roederer Champagne, wine, beer and sprits.

Street-inspired Thai food is set to meet a track-inspired event. A generous banquet will be matched with Perrier-Jouët Champagne, signature sAme sAme cocktails, wine and beer.
