Lee Mathews takes on Summer 2014

To be gamine is to be somewhat boyish, elegant, wide-eyed and playful…

It’s with a gamine muse that the new Lee Mathews collection embodies a softly tailored, monochromatic and contemporary Parisian mode.

Washed linen suiting become the new season staple. Clean cut blazers and slim pants are rolled up, paired with pleated georgette and tuxedo style tops. It’s the boyfriend look with a girlish tone. The check linen ‘Gatsby’ blazer and pant make a season statement with a preppy tom-boy look.

Dresses are elongated with hemlines at a new midi-length. Sheer georgette styles have a contemporary edge in tank style sheaths and 1930’s inspired tunics. Linear silhouettes are key, updated with a wide leg silk pant in an Oriental inspired print, giving a sense of menswear styling and lounge appeal.

Streamline, versatile and clean cut. This collection has an undertone of an effortless boyish attitude, mixed with feminine charm into a modern and understated look.
