It’s time to dine as the eighth annual James Street Food & Wine Trail (JSFWT) returns in July. The now four-day event will begin on Thursday 25 July with Trail Days, with three days of special in-venue events and collaborations, followed by Market Day on Sunday 28 July.
Trail Days enable diners to experience something unique in-venues – from a duck feast at Chow House, a five-course dinner with paired wine at loved locale King Arthur Cafe, collaborations between Gelato Messina and Hellenika, to signature dish pairings at all venues.
Market Day on Sunday 28 July is considered the ‘main meal’ of JSFWT and 2019 will be the largest street-wide event to date with James Street’s finest chefs swapping their kitchens for market stalls to offer restaurant quality picnic fair. New venues, Hellenika, Lobby Bar and Mosconi will pop-up for their first ever JSFWT – and, the menu offerings of these newbies are impressive to say the least. Look out for Lobby Bar serving West Australian Crayfish Brioche Roll, Scallion and Remoulade Sauce, whilst Hellenika will deliver their ever-popular Lamb Ribs and Greek Salad, and discover the Duck Ragù by non-other than Mosconi, to name just a few of their premium menu items on offer. Twenty-eight stalls by James Street operators will partake in this year’s event and tunes from three stages; LIVE, VIBE and JAZZ will be projected throughout the street, whilst the ILVE Pop-Up Kitchen returns to see Adam Wolfers of Gerard’s Bistro, Shaun Malone of Bucci and Bryan Kelly of Hellenika take to the stage for live chef demonstrations – offering guests a one-of-a-kind chance to learn from and taste the creations of some of James Street’s best culinary creators. The Kids Camp will also return in collaboration with Little Green Thumbs, giving little foodies the opportunity to plant and take home their very own seedlings.
