No one can epitomize effortlessly cool style better than the queens of cool themselves, Shan and Prue Bauer – the dynamic duo behind Camargue… But we think their latest designer Stella Jean may be able to give them a run for their money.
Stella Jean is a genetically blessed Haitin x Italian model turned designer political science major that transfers the colour and architecture of her culture into effervescent designs. If her exotic descent and genius brain isn’t enough to make you green with envy, keep reading, because the jealousy will come.
After getting a sneak peek at her collection, famous Italian designer, Giorgio Amarni offered her an all expenses paid show during Milan fashion week, including 550-seat Teatro space and full access to his communications and marketing team. Uhhh, ok, because having Giorgio Armani wrapped around your little finger isn’t a huge deal or anything! Moving on… She also has Suzy Menkes wrapped around her little finger, with Suzy on record saying “Stella’s unusual ethnicity and her desire to make ethically sound clothes, helping the poorest women in the world, makes her bold and colourful clothes as beautiful inside as out.” Ok, now we’re seriously moving on.
Stella is completely, 100% self-taught. With no fashion education under her belt, Stella just slogged away on her tiny sewing machine until she made it in the big leagues – and by big leagues, we mean she smashed thousands of illustriously trained designers out of the water to win Vogue Italia’s prestigious Who Is On Next award. Yeah, there’s that too.
All in all, Stella Jean is not only a babe, a smarty-pants, an outrageously talented designer, and a kind-hearted human being, but as of Saturday, she will also be stocked in Camargue… so needless to say, she has it all.
So what are you waiting for?! Check out Stella Jean’s designs in-store at Camargue when they land on Saturday!
