Father's Day

For the man (Dad!) of the moment

Sunday 1 September is all about the man of the moment, dear old dad. If you are still perplexed on what to buy the special father figure in your life, pick up a hint or two from our Father’s Day gift guide or itinerary.

Start the day with King Arthur Cafe. A much-loved locale, King Arthur Cafe serves up an all-day breakfast menu which heros local (and delicious) produce. The way to any man’s heart is supposedly through his stomach, and Smoked Brisket with Bacon Brussels, Carrot Salad and Cultured Cream or Little Acre Shrooms with Spicy Greens, Fennel and Pickled Mushroom, should do the trick – pair either with King Arthur’s Sundays coffee and the day will be off to a great start.

Next, let him pick the perfect gift. Whether it be a visit to Optiko where the staff are on hand to find the right frame, CRU Bar + Cellar for the perfect drop or 2XU for an athleisure wardrobe update.

Post shopping, dine at James Street’s newest addition to the food community, Mosconi. Head Chef Catherine Anders has devised a robust menu which embraces modern European cuisine. From Market Fish, Heirloom Carrott, Almond and Fregoloa to Homemade Pipe Rigate, Duck Ragu, Guanciale and Crispy Sage, Mosconi is a good (great!) recipe for a Father’s Day to remember.

There is a lot more to experience on James Street, so browse our Fashion, Food & Drink, Health & Beauty, Lifestyle & Design and Stay destinations for more ideas but if you’re still not sold, browse our Father’s Day Gift Guide below.
