The Gorman Winter 2019 collection was produced in collaboration with an artist to watch, Caroline Collom.
In 2017, Gorman teamed up with online news guide Broadsheet for a competition like no other – giving young, up and coming artists the opportunity to collaborate with one of Australia’s leading labels. Three artists were in the running and the public chose Collom as their favourite, so just like that the Winter 2019 collaboration was born.
Collom is a British born artist, who has worked in Sydney and now Melbourne where she resides. She started her art education at Wimbledon College of Art and then went on to do a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victoria College of Arts, University of Melbourne and graduated in 2014. Since graduating Collom has had four solo exhibitions across Australia and London and has two upcoming residences, one with PADA in Portugal starting in August, the other in Paris in 2020.
For the Winter collection, Gorman worked with Collom to create a 12 piece capsule collection consisting of apparel, homewares and accessories that feature original works playing with the illusion of depth, with arresting colours, lines and shapes. Enjoy a sneak peek of the colourful collection below or pop in-store to pick up a piece (or two)!
