What do you get when you combine three launches in one night? A crazy good house party.
MCM House is the host and the address is 7D Wandoo St. The date James St Up Late on 23.03.23 and the time is 5 – 8PM. There’s no RSVP required and you’re welcome to BYO friends.
Your host – MCM House – will be celebrating the launch of their first-ever Queensland showroom with its Founder, Charles Hinkfuss flying in for the occasion. Charles will be joined alongside friend and artist, Daimon Downey who’s renowned for paving his way in the abstract pop-art world. On the night, Daimon will launch his latest exhibition entitled, ‘No! You’re Crazy!’ while MCM House provides the DJ, refreshments, discount and complimentary merchandise.
Hinkfuss said, “we are launching the showroom with a creative collaboration on the night. Daimon will launch his art show called ‘No! You’re Crazy!’ and we will bring the Up Late energy with a DJ, refreshments, 20% discount and complimentary MCM House merchandise”.
Not only is the name of Downey’s exhibition fun, the works are too! The collection of abstract face paintings bring a smile to the dial, with multicoloured cartoon-like faces made up of dots and relaxed brush strokes each exuding varying endearing traits. Both original paintings and numbered prints will be on show and the faces will come to life by way of light projection during the party – following the event, the works will remain on show for four-weeks.
This vibrant partnership between Charles and Daimon is not the first for the duo, nor will it be the last. Last year, Daimon collaborated with MCM House on two signature colour waves for their iconic sofa collection – cue iceberg blue and lavender purple. Charles says that these kinds of partnerships with like-minded creatives is what makes MCM House more than just a furniture brand.
“Amazing collaborations and partnerships with like-minded brands give MCM House a unique creative energy. We’re very much more than just a furniture brand, we have a vibe and that comes from working with other cool brands and people that align with us,” stated Charles.
The third and final launch of the evening is by far the tastiest. Woofys (those cool white carts often seen serving tasty treats) are launching a brand new offering called CartiBoy. CartiBoy’s new concept will be revealed, serving snacks from Gerard’s Bar on the night. See, we told you this house party was a triple threat. Be there!
