To celebrate the launch of their new series, Calile Culture, The Calile Hotel will host an intimate conversation with Author and Miles Franklin Prize winner Anna Funder. A deep dive, no, not into The Calile pool, but into Funder’s internationally acclaimed new work Wifedom hosted by Griffith Review Editor, Carody Culver.
A biography, memoir and treatise Wifedom the story of Eileen O’Shaughnessy, George Orwell’s first wife pieces together the story of O’Shaughnessy’s life and exposes the tricks that left her buried by biographers, and by history.
This thought-provoking event will be the first in The Calile’s new agenda of cultural programming, events designed to open the doors to both The Calile and to cultural conversations by inviting the community in to share inspiration and stimulating dialogue.
